Jalan yang Harus Ditempuh (1992)
Norman Warren
Yayasan Komunikasi bina Kasih / OMF

Jesus Among Other Gods: The Absolute Claims Of The Christian Message (2000)
Ravi Zacharias
Word Publishing
In a world with so many religions, why Jesus? We are living in a time when you can believe anything, as long as you do not claim it to be true. In the name of “tolerance,” our postmodern culture embraces everything from Eastern mysticism to New Age spirituality. But as Ravi Zacharias points out, such unquestioning acceptance of all things spiritual is absurd. All religions, plainly and simply, cannot be true. Jesus Among Other Gods provides the answers to the most fundamental claims about Christianity, such as: Aren’t all religions fundamentally the same? Was Jesus who He claimed to be? Can one study the life of Christ and demonstrate conclusively that He was and is the way, the truth, and the life? In each chapter, Zacharias considers a unique claim that Jesus made and then contrasts the truth of Jesus with the founders of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism with compelling insight and passionate conviction. In addition to an impressive breadth of reading and study, he shares his personal journey from despair and meaninglessness to his discovery that Jesus is who He said He is. “In Jesus Among Other Gods, Ravi Zacharias demonstrates that he is one of the most intellectually gifted as well as spiritually sensitive writers of today’s leading apologists for the Christian faith. Zacharias brings alive the unique power of the claims of Jesus about himself and the utter relevance of his message today for the human condition.” — David Aikman, author of Great Souls

John Calvin: A Pilgrim\'s Life (2009)
Herman J. Selderhuis
Inter Varsity Press · ISBN: 978-0-8308-2921-7
Selderhuis draws on Calvin's own publications and commentary on the biblical figures with whom he strongly identified to describe his theology in the context of his personal development. Throughout we see a person who found himself alone at many of the decisive moments of his life--a fact that echoed through Calvin's subsequent sermons and commentaries. Selderhuis's unique and compelling look at John Calvin, with all of his merits and foibles, ultimately discloses a man who could not find himself at home in the world in which he lived. --from publisher description

Benjamin W. Farley
Baker Book
A collection of sixteen sermons by John Calvin that shed light on his understanding and application of the Ten Commandments. Widely known as one of the church’s most significant theologians, John Calvin was also a skilled preacher with the ability to proclaim biblical truth with power and relevance. These sermons develop the essence of his teaching on the moral law in a popular and engaging manner. Pastors preaching through the Ten Commandments, Bible students, and anyone interested in Calvin’s views on the Ten Commandments will take great delight in reading his exposition of the Decalogue, which is called “the true and eternal rule of righteousness [for all] who wish to conform their lives to God’s will.”

Jonathan Edwards - A Guided Tour of his life and thought (2001)
Stephen J. Nichols
· ISBN: 0-87552-194-0
Jonathan Edwards, a leader in the Great Awakening during the eighteenth century, still has much to teach the church. Evangelicals are rediscovering him through the efforts of several authors (John Gerstner, Iain Murray, Harry Stout, and others) and publishers (Banner of Truth, Soli Deo Gloria, and Crossway). Stephen Nichols offers Jonathan Edwards "as an introduction, a gateway into the vast and rewarding life, thought, and writings of Jonathan Edwards." He intends it for anyone who wants to read Edwards but who needs a little help.
"This book is arguably the best introduction to the life and thought of Jonathan Edwards ever published. The book is divided into four sections detailing Edwards' life, revival and church life, theology and philosophy, and sermons. Especially insightful is Nichols' recognition of Edwards as a precursor of the redemptive-historical approach to Scripture that is exemplified in Edwards' History of the Work of Redemption. The author's summary of Freedom of the Will should make that work useful to a new generation of readers. Nichols also helps to bring into focus Edwards' use of the sermon as a theological venue and primary means for proclaiming the gospel. Nichols selects three sermons (including "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God") to illustrate Edwards' use of the Puritan or "plain style" sermon, which included an exposition of a given Scripture passage, a discussion of the pertinent doctrine to be gleaned from the passage, and an elaboration of the practical application of the passage. Nichols reminds us that Edwards was equally at home in the study and in the pulpit, amongst theologians and philosophers, New Englanders and Indians. Much of current scholarship categorizes Edwards as either a theologian or a philosopher, or a pastor or scientist. The author helpfully brings all these threads together to weave a beautiful tapestry that brings glory to God, the only proper end for all of creation. This is a fine contribution to the ever-increasing body of literature on Jonathan Edwards." -- Jeff Waddington.
